Hearing Aids

Hearing is our concern

Starkey Hearing Technologies is much more than the hearing aids we produce. We are in the business of connecting people and changing lives. We believe being able to hear the world and the people around us is as essential to the human experience as breathing.

As a world leader in manufacturing and delivering advanced hearing solutions, our goal is to bring people together and make lives richer by empowering individuals to reach their full potential in life. In 1967, William F. Austin founded our company with the simple premise, “Alone we can’t do much. Together, we can change the world.” We live that vision every day. We are a proud supporter of Starkey Hearing Foundation, which helps people in need around the world receive the gift of hearing. To date, Starkey Hearing Foundation has provided more than 1 million hearing health care services to people in need worldwide.

Innovation

Helping millions of patients with never-before-seen hearing aid technologies
Whether it’s our industry-leading lineup of invisible hearing aids, the way we took on the challenge of listening comfortably in noisy environments, or our wireless product options including Livio™— our Made for iPhone® hearing aid – we’re continually innovating smaller, easier and better ways to hear. It was Starkey Hearing Technologies that created the industry’s first in-canal hearing aid and first custom, digital and fully programmable invisible hearing aid. We were also the first to use nanotechnology in hearing aids, making hearing aids waterproof, and to begin tackling the biggest challenge wearers have historically faced – hearing in noise.

We don’t do technology for technology’s sake
At Starkey Hearing Technologies, we believe that all new products should bring specific and measurable improvements to a patient’s hearing. We ask patients and practitioners what features and improvements they want in their hearing aids — then we get to work.

In recent years, we have answered patient demands for better sound quality in all environments, simpler controls and adjustments, faster processing, and hearing aids that are more discreet and attractive. In the process, we’ve set new standards for the industry.

Everything we do is evidence based
We rely on evidence-based design and only update products when a new technology or feature can make a measurable difference. If it doesn’t improve your hearing experience, we don’t do it. And we always benchmark claims and product research, thoroughly testing our products internally and against other hearing aids. If we make a claim, we back it up and make our findings public.

We put innovation in action every day

From the technicians in our labs to the scientists, audiological researchers and thought leaders at our state-of-the-art Starkey Hearing Research Center in Berkeley, California, we put innovation in action every day, continually seeking ways to better understand the science of hearing loss and its impact on peoples’ lives — so we can continually develop better technologies to improve it.

Commitment to philanthropy

Starkey Hearing Foundation works year round “So The World May Hear®”

To date, more than 1 million people who otherwise couldn’t hear have been given a chance to be a part of this world thanks to the Starkey Hearing Foundation. The Starkey Hearing Foundation travels the globe to fit free hearing aids on people in need and to give them the priceless gift of hearing. Today, the Starkey Hearing Foundation is sustained by the efforts of thousands of volunteers and donors around the world.

Raising awareness and promoting hearing health
In addition to giving the gift of hearing, the Foundation is committed to global hearing health and is leading a national program called Listen Carefully. Through music and education, Listen Carefully helps teens understand the science of hearing and dangers of exposure to high-decibel sounds. And its non-profit organization program Hear Now assists permanent U.S. residents who are deaf or hard-of-hearing and have limited financial resources.

We know the art and science of hearing better than anyone else. This expertise, coupled with our made-for-you approach, has led to our superior patient satisfaction and success rates.

Designed for your life
A truly custom fit begins with an accurate understanding of you. Your Starkey hearing professional has the most comprehensive diagnostic equipment available to measure your hearing ability, ear canal shape and inner ear acoustics. This allows us to create a hearing aid that meets your specific needs and matches your unique lifestyle — right from the start.
